The Odeon, Leicester Square, was the London flagship of the circuit. To mark it out, it was faced in polished black granite rather than buff tile, and the height of the tower was limited to 120 feet by planning legislation. By night, it is outlined in neon lighting. The cinema opened on 2 November 1937 with The Prisoner of Zenda.
