Caption: This double cylinder condensing beam engine, known as David & Sampson, was installed in 1851 to blow the New Furnaces of the Lilleshall Co. The engine was made by Murdoch, Aitken & Co, Glasgow. It was replaced in 1900 when the site was altered, but retained as a standby. The works closed in 1959 and the engine was moved to Blists Hill.
