The tower mill in Croft was built as a four-storey cereal mill in 1814. In 1859 it was raised to seven storeys (from the point where the tower becomes vertical), which is how it appeared when it was photographed in 1934. In 1949 it was reduced back to four storeys. No internal milling machinery survives.
